Each tap size has its own carbide-tipped hole saw. See the chart.
Match the valve threads
Thread on the IPS or CTS valve adapter that fits your valve.
Drill the tap
The cordless drill turns the drill rod, the hole saw and the coupon-retaining pilot bit.
Remove the coupon
The pilot bit holds the cut coupon. Push it out of the saw with a coupon ejector (sold in parts).

What pipe can the kits tap?
PVC, ductile iron, AC and other common water mains, as listed on each kit page. For a lot of ductile iron, the Mach 2 Pro adds Tiger Cutters.
Can I buy a kit without the drill?
Yes. Switch the toggle above to “Without drill”: Mach 1 $1,845, Mach 2 $3,195, Mach 2 Pro $3,595. Not sure your drill fits? Ask us first.
What valve adapters are included?
IPS and CTS valve adapters: 6 in the Mach 1, 12 in the Mach 2 and Mach 2 Pro.
What are Tiger Cutters?
Tungsten carbide tipped hole saws for ductile iron pipe only. The Mach 2 Pro includes one per size, and they’re also sold separately.
Which hole saw makes which tap?
11/16″ makes a 3/4″ tap, 7/8″ makes a 1″ tap, 1-3/8″ makes a 1-1/2″ tap and 1-3/4″ makes a 2″ tap.
Can I buy replacement saws, bits and adapters?
Yes. Hole saws, pilot bits, drill rods and valve adapters are sold individually on the Quick Order page.
Can I get a custom kit?
Yes. Send us the sizes and pipe types you tap.
What about 4″, 6″ and 8″ taps?
